Earning more, receiving less

I wish all taxes could be abolished! The govt. officials are all so wealthy to begin with, what do they need a measly govt. salary for? Ok, i guess there social programs to pay for and other stuff....but i personally feel the govt. should no longer receive salaries! Because we made a significant rise in pay this last year, we had to pay back taxes (which in my mind makes no sense...the money wasn't needed last year?) Now we will receive less in our child tax benefit every month which is ok, but here is the problem....we make less now than we did a year ago, eventhough our paystubs beg to differ. Let me explain a little here. Because we moved into a higher tax bracket, we are now taxed at 20% instead of approx. 10%. Also because we earned more the govt. gives you less money each month for having kids. So in actuality, we make less this year than the previous year (or two). I am ok with being self sufficient and working hard but it is ridiculous how much taxes are being taken away from us "middle class" therefore bumping us back down to "lower class" according to our income. Don't forget that even though we drill for oil in our own backyards (basically) we still pay about 30% more than the US, whom we export it to. Again, taxes! So if you enjoy socialism and not having much moeny for yourself, not willing to accomplish a career, BUT having the govt. decide what is best, COME ON OVER! :)
