An excuse to meet the inactives

I have been serving the primary presidency for a few months now and i am finally getting adjusted and really liking it. one of my main challenges has been activation. I am never sure how to approach the people because sometimes inactive members just do not want to be bothered by us. well i finally found a great reason to contact them. Dallas is getting baptize don saturday and so i invited them out but also i invited them to my home because we are having a BBQ afterwards. i don't know if any of them will show up but at least i can say i tried right? hehe! I do not want to treat them as a project or anything because i am truly concerned for their welfare, but also know that everyone is different in their situations and grow and learn at their own pace. so all i really want to do is get to know them and make a connection. you can't force someone back to church but maybe a small friendship will help them desire to live the gospel again someday.

That is great Tonnia! Being on the other end of this situation, really, the worst thing you can do is treat them like you have to contact them becuase its your job or something. We all have reasons why we go and do not go to church..but dont assume that they see things the same way you do.! good luck and keep up he good work! haha!

Me and Barrett do the same thing when stuff like that comes up it's really fun! We also do it for people that are new to the area too, thats always a great way to get them introduced to the church, of course we never push it.
